Cooper Bussmann


Imagine coming to work one morning and discovering water had geysered up through the floor, seriously damaging your office.

Our client, Cooper Bussmann, experienced such an unwelcome surprise when a water main broke under the floor of their expansive division headquarters building. Fixtures and furniture were ruined; normal work routines interrupted. As industry leaders in critical circuit protection fuses, power management and electrical safety, Cooper Bussmann executives had one immediate priority: get employees back to work without delay.

After the water main break was repaired, they had a second mandate: restore the office space, quickly and efficiently. These unexpected costs were not, after all, in the forecasted budget.

Cooper Bussmann called on Facilitec St. Louis to solve both problems.


Chelsey Gellett, Division Senior Industrial Engineer for Cooper Bussmann, explains why: “After evaluating several office furniture companies, Facilitec St. Louis was able to win the bid by providing higher quality furniture at a lower cost on a better time frame.”

First, we provided temporary furniture in their interim office quarters. Staff were quickly able to resume a normal work routine. Then, we set about working with Cooper Bussmann’s architect and general contractor to furnish their entire renovated space. Everyone worked under a compressed construction schedule, in order to minimize Cooper Bussmann’s costs. Our goal was to quickly design, specify, deliver and install furnishings. We provided concept design of the space and typical layouts to the project team. We consulted and advised on options that would make their renovated space perform better than ever.

“Throughout the finish selection process Facilitec St. Louis was extremely engaged and helped us to select all of the furniture in our updated office,” Gellett says. “They were able to design in the flexibility of varying configurations of cubicles and office furniture that we needed and provided an installation crew that was first class.”

Their space is now filled with state-of-the-art Teknion furniture, workstations and architectural walls. The design makes ideal use of space, light and flow. The ultimate gauge of success is our client’s positive feedback. As Gellett remarks, “Everyone was amazed at our newly renovated space due in large part to the outstanding furniture and service we received from Facilitec St. Louis.”
