I started Facilitec in May of 1993. We started small, and we’ve remained committed to staying small so that we can give all our customers personal service. I still manage the day-to-day operations at Facilitec, because I like to be with our team and be involved. I’m passionate about our industry; it’s been my calling since 1986! When I’m not managing things at work, I manage things at home – the house, the family. I enjoy reading – especially on the beach – and crafting, but what I find I spend most of my time doing is what I truly love: managing operations, at work and at home.
Favorite Office Furniture: I like Teknion’s Expansion line. It’s simple and has very clean lines. The cost for the quality of the product is one of the best in the markets.
Okay, I’m biased. I like that we encourage leadership of all of our people at Facilitec. We promote independence and want our people to have an entrepreneurial approach to their own roles. Georgina and I are entrepreneurs, and we encourage that mindset. We encourage open communication. Georgina and I want our employees to understand that Facilitec is a priority, but not first in their lives. We give unquestioned freedom for our employees to enjoy their families – their first priority. Bottom line for me is to do things the right way, whatever that might be, to be successful.
Favorite Office Furniture: I don’t play favorites.
As much as I enjoy going to client’s locations, I’m thrilled when they come to our showroom. They can touch and feel and try all kinds of amazing furniture, and really get an idea of scale, comfort and purpose – all live and in-person. Our showroom is one of my favorite places, maybe because I learn best by doing. An audio visual system can solve problems tomorrow you can’t even anticipate today, and can’t even imagine by looking at its specs on a diagram. But try it out live, and you’ll feel its power. It’s a lot like my spare time: While I like watching and analyzing sports, nothing beats actually being on the green or slope.
Favorite Office Furniture: height-adjustable workstations with touchdown areas
I have been in the contract furniture industry for over 2 years. At Facilitec my main focus is Account Management. My responsibilities include developing long-term relationships, operating as point of contact, and communicating clearly to ensure a timely and successful solution to the client’s needs and objectives. I love the atmosphere at Facilitec, it’s fun and energetic. We have a talented, dedicated, and innovative team that will to go the extra mile to help our clients and get the job done right!
When I am not at work, you can find me with my family and friends.
Favorite Office Furniture: I don’t have a favorite. I love that spaces today provide the users with options.
My focus is to create and cultivate relationships with architects and designers and partner with commercial real estate firms to give each and every client a seamless and efficient process. My goal is to take the end user beyond the furniture to create functional, sustainable workplaces and productive, collaborative environments. The fun and team-like environment attracted me to join Facilitec, and as a young professional in the industry, I am excited to grow my network and share some of the amazing products and services our team can provide. Outside of the office, I’m normally on the links or playing the guitar.
Favorite Office Furniture: Height adjustable tables are the most exciting product out right now. The health movement is real and there is no doubt sitting all day has negative effects on your body. We are seeing a big trend upward for products like this.
I’ve been with Facilitec for over 10 years as an interior designer, architectural products specialist, and recently returned to lead our wonderful design department. The greatest thing about working at Facilitec, is the feeling of, well… home. The small, family atmosphere is what makes our team so enjoyable!
My skills are highlighted by my space planning ability, furniture selection and specification, and wall design and specification.
Outside of the office, the truth is you may not see me. I am probably hiding out in a deer stand in the country. I enjoy road trips, anything outdoors, and most importantly, spending time with my twin daughters and my boyfriend.
Favorite Office Furniture: I think we all spend more time in our chairs than anything else office furniture related and my favorite task chair is the Humanscale World chair. I have sat in a ton of chairs throughout my time and that by far is the most comfortable.
When I’m not dreaming of a Hawaiian vacation, I’m probably crafting, shooting photos or enjoying a great classic film. I love the creativity Facilitec St. Louis brings out of me. I love solving problems for our clients and making them comfortable in their workspaces and proud of their offices. Managing projects and making sure every little detail is executed perfectly is my job and I’m happy to have the opportunity to do it. I guess I have furniture on my mind a lot… I also love restoring old pieces at home.
Favorite Office Furniture: fun lounge furniture
I have been in the industry for 28 years. I have been with Facilitec for the past 6 months. To me, Facilitec is a dealership small enough to be really agile, but intelligent enough to be really strong in the St. Louis Market and beyond. But it really boils down to the people.
When I am not at work some of my favorite things are fishing, making furniture, wood turning, gardening, and football.
Favorite Office Furniture: I lean toward a modern school of thought like the Bauhaus or the overall feel of someone’s work like Charles and Ray Eames. I really like the work of Douglas Ball.
I am in my first year at Facilitec and my first year within the industry. My job is to listen to clients desires and necessities within a space, work as a team and communicate efficiently with all who are involved and use my passion to create a functional design so clients are comfortable within their workspace.
The people at Facilitec are the best. Everyone is constantly willing to teach and to learn.
When I am not at Facilitec I love trail running and building furniture with my dad.
Favorite Office Furniture: I love Teknion’s wall products: Focus Wall, Optos, and Altos. The continuous presentation of glass makes for a clean and seamless look that is a perfect architectural statement within a space.
I am brand new to the industry, but already love the atmosphere at Facilitec. I will be helping with Facilitec’s accounting. I get to be the one to call and “politely” ask for invoices to be paid. When I am not at work I love spending time with my family. Ideally I would be at a beach in Mexico with them right now.
Favorite Office Furniture: My task chair. It has to be comfortable if I am going to sit in it all day!
I’m one of the lucky people in life who likes to do exactly the things I have to do at work. For 10 years I’ve been a Facilitec Field Product Manager. I’m responsible for furniture installations. I make sure they are completed to the customer’s satisfaction, and I handle any product claim and warranty issues. I am also responsible for taking care of Facilitec’s building, as well as other tenant spaces. I like building, remodeling, antiquing, working with wood and other materials, so I have a great job. I also like hunting and fishing, but I hold off until the weekends for those pursuits.
Favorite Office Furniture: the antique cabinet I’m refinishing and converting into a humidor. I realize this isn’t office furniture. But I’m a woodworker, what can I say.
